Ahhhh, a fresh year is almost upon us!

While B thinks it’s just another day, NYE is one of my favorite holidays (& I know I’m not alone!).

It’s a time for reflection & a renewed sense of motivation.

This blog post contains 23 questions to reflect on 2023. Do them in order or meditate on whichever ones speak to you. Grab your trusty journal or talk them out with your bestie—this is YOUR reflection time 🙂

let’s get started!

1. Are you happy with the direction your life is going? Why or why not?

2. What is something you learned this year (a hobby, a lesson, etc.)?

B & I learned pottery together!

3. What new friends did you make this year? What is special about these connections?

4. List some things that brought you joy in the last year (snuggles with honey, going for walks, playing with your dog, your kid’s giggles, pottery class, etc.). How can you prioritize those more in the next year?

5. What is something that you thought didn’t work out, but actually ended up being a blessing in disguise?

6. Did you have any big life changes (getting married, a baby, a move, a new job, etc.)? Where did you see your growth in those changes?

7. What is something you’re really proud of yourself for?

8. What’s one thing that was on your to-do list all year, but you never got around to? (Cleaning out your closet, going on that road trip, picking up tennis again, etc.) What’s the game-plan for getting it accomplished?

9. What did you do to keep friendships alive? What worked well & what do you wish would have been different?

10. What is something that worked out better than you could have imagined?

11. What habits served you well? What habits do you want to change?

12. What was your favorite social gathering that you went to? What did you like about it?

13. What’s been causing you stress? How can you lessen it (or its impacts) in the next year?

14. What are you grateful you got to do? What are you sad you didn’t get to do?

15. Sum this year up in a word or phrase. If you picked a word for the year, did they match?

16. There are seven areas of wellness: physical, emotional/mental, intellectual, social, professional, spiritual, environmental. Where are you thriving? Where are you struggling? How do you need to shift your attention in the coming year (if at all)?

17. What’s a risk you’ve been wanting to take? What has been stopping you & how can you overcome that?

18. Did you seek help when you needed it? If yes, how did it go? If no, what held you back?

19. What was your theme song of the year (or a season of this year)?

20. What’s the best recipe you made?

21. What was a really good purchase that you made this year? What about a not-so-great one?

22. Are you proud of how you stewarded the relationships around you (partner, kids, friends, etc.)? Why or why not?

Sometimes I write B love notes on napkins & he loves it!

23. True or False: This year made me more excited about life. If true, how can we make that happen next year as well? If false, what do you think would make it true?
